About Couristan Rugs
For 80 years, Couristan, Inc. has been a powerful name in the area rug and broadloom industry. Owned by the Couri family for two generations and operated today by brothers, the company prides itself on having the most exquisite handmade and power-loomed floor-coverings available from anywhere around the world. Founded in 1926 by two brothers and appropriately named "Couri Brothers," the company began its humble beginnings by importing fine handmade area rugs from Persia. The first area rugs imported by the company were a few shipments of Sparta Rugs from Smyrna. At the time, the company began affixing "Couristan" trademark labels to the back of each and every rug it imported. The company would quickly begin to broaden its horizons, as well as its area rug offerings, by importing rugs from India in 1927. In the 1930s, Couristan began importing handmade hooked rugs from China and braided rugs from Japan.

We bought the 8.6'x 13' for a covered patio as a gift for a relative whose patio furniture is black. It seems well made & there were no loose strings anywhere. It was true to size,-and the color was what we had hoped for. Prior to purchase we were concerned the center may be too busy, but we were wrong. It looks beautiful & the surprised relatives LOVED IT.
We cant speak on the durability, the stain resistance, or easiness to clean, since we've only had it a few days.

I am having second thoughts about the design, now that it is spread out
and I can look at it with furniture. I may return the rug.
I think I would like one of the other designs better.
Service and delivery comments:
Again, the delivery person left pkg outside my apt door without ringing the bell, when I specifically asked IF there is no answer leave it outside the door.

Nice quality, great color that compliments our composite decking. We wanted an outdoor carpet since the deck gets so hot. This rug did the trick. It also stays down nicely with no upturned corners. It is raining now so I am anxious to see how it will dry afterwards but doesn't look like it will be a problem.
Delivery was two days earlier than expected.
